How do we celebrate July 4th? Compare our celebration of today to the picture below (also in the textbook p. 236-237)
On the 4th of July I usually go to parties and hang around all day and then at the end there's always fireworks. The people back then dressed differently and didnt have fireworks or facepaint.
Why did Jackson oppose the Second Bank of the United States?
the Constitution did not give Congress the authority to create it in the first place
What did Jackson's opponents do to hurt his chances of being re-elected as president?
introduced a bill to renew the Bank’s charter to get people to not like him because of he disagreed with it.
What did the Second Bank of the United States become after Jackson's second term as president?
It was made into a regular state bank

States because they are more involved with the people who live their. Not everybody lives the same so the different states have different needs that may not affect or would affect in a bad way other states.
What examples can you think of that involve the concept of states' rights? What can states control that the federal government does not?

Tariff is raised in 1824+1828
North likes tariff. They are industrialized, they want all Americans to buy American goods.
South doesnt like tariff, forced to buy more expensive American goods(British goods are cheaper).

-Were going to show which side we think is right and then then give reasons and why we think so.
-Argument. Persuasive
-It was justified because he wanted to protect the country. May have been harsh but it made us safer. Better safe than sorry. They are not Americans so they are not protected by the constitution. Some were a threat.
